The Northern Star Business Awards are highly regarded in the business community and success in winning an award is seen as a major achievement.

ASM were nominated this year in two categories – Small Business of the Year, and Socially Responsible Company; we are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as one of the three finalists in the Small Business category, and although not shortlisted we were Highly Commended in the Socially Responsible Business category.

The awards ceremony, to be held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 24 September, is the largest event of its kind in the northeast, with over 1000 guests attending, representing a cross-section of the business community, and by far the biggest annual event organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

To quote from AGCC website, “The Northern Star Business Awards are all about recognising and celebrating business achievements….” At ASM we are delighted to receive this acknowledgement from AGCC, which follows on from a successful year in 2008, and recognises our commitment to staff and clients as well as the excellent feedback received, and also acknowledges our support of the outside community in general.

ASM were previously shortlisted for an award in 2005, when we were narrowly beaten by Shell UK in the Socially Responsible Business category. Isobel Maughan, Director of ASM, said; “We are delighted with our success to date, and look forward to a wonderful evening on 24 September. Whatever the outcome, to have reached the finalists is a great achievement and a tremendous tribute to our staff.”
