The contract, worth a seven figure sum, involved ASM extensively adapting and fitting out almost 30,000 sq ft of the Excel Centre at the Offshore Technology Park, Bridge of Don, to suit their client’s needs. ASM has worked with Accenture for the past 15 years, with this being one of the biggest projects to date between the two companies.

Design began in July 2006, when it was established that approximately 300 members of Accenture staff would be moving to the Excel Centre. The fit out commenced in November 2006, with completion in March 2007, and has involved all of ASM’s in-house services.

The needs of the Accenture IT department were pivotal to the project. A new computer room was constructed, with heavy duty raised floor, air conditioning, water detection and a fire suppression system. The existing layout of the building was open plan, and ASM designed a solution resulting in a mix of open plan and cellular space including a boardroom, meeting rooms, cellular offices and specialist service areas.

The logistics of the office relocation, from existing offices at Hill of Rubislaw and Dyce, required careful planning and coordination in order to avoid disruption. A total of 22 server cabinets were moved along with user’s PCs, all outwith normal working hours, giving zero downtime to Accenture's national and international operations.
